Genius Hour Introduction

Hello and welcome to my Genius Hour Project introduction.  My name is Corey Padgett and I am currently a teacher candidate at Brock University.  I have decided to endeavour in the creation of a project that would have some lasting use for me academically.  I also wanted to engage in a project that I would both enjoy and that would present a challenge for me.  Therefore since I have an educational background in both literature and philosophy I decided to dedicate my Genius Hour Project to creating an academic resource incorporating both disciplines.  More precisely, I have decided to take some of the fictional literature books that I have read and attempted to criticise, explain, and expand on their meaning using philosophy.  When doing so I have attempt to use as wide of a variety of authors as possible.  My goal is to try and introduce as many thinkers and ideas from both disciplines as much as I possibly could.  Unfortunately, there is a natural limitation to my ability to do this as some fictional literature works are more compatible with philosophy then others.  There are also, of course, limitation as to what I have read and understood.  With all this being said, I hope that I have provided a solid foundation for a developing academic resource that is hopefully a useful tool for those interested in fictional literature and philosophy.
